Granted.  The Wikipedia account is not authoritative but it is definitely
clear.

(Aside to folks who confirm/explore this: Please note that the presentation of
the date in the cell to the user is not the same as how the date is stored in
the document file.  People looking at this defect need to be clear that this is
about formatting the presentation of the cell and the editing of input values
into the cell.  This also means that when the file is interchanged between
users operating with different locales there can be deviations in the observed
presentation and recognized formats depending on various factors.)
