I have attempted the following methods: Attempt 1: 1. Open MS Word 2013 2. Create a test string of words with symbols mixed into the string and words inside the string 3. Save file as docx 4. Open OO Writer v. 3.4.0 and open the docx file Result: Symbols accurately imported. Attempt 2: 1. Open MS Word 2013 2. Create a test string of only symbols 3. Save file as docx 4. Open OO Writer v. 3.4.0 and open the docx file Result: Symbols accurately imported Attempt 3 (attached screenshot): 1. Open MS Word 2013 2. Create a test string of only symbols 3. Save file as docx with symbol in the filename 4. Open OO Writer v. 3.4.0 and open the docx file 5. (Optional) Save file as odt in OO Writer Result: Symbols accurately imported It is true that there are issues with OpenOffice having trouble to import tables and charts in docx files, and there are multiple bug reports that attest to this issue (like issue 46263, just to name an example), but it would appear that symbols can be imported to OpenOffice Writer from docx files in version 3.4.0. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the issue.
