McKenna <[email protected]> --- (In reply to Ginny Jolly from comment #0) > When I look up anything in OpenOffice Help, it gives me the following error: > > "OpenOffice requires a Java Runtime Environment (JRE) to perform this task. > Please install a JRE and restart OpenOffice." > > Please let me know what I need to download and how it should be installed in > order to get the Help service operational. > > Thank you. > > Ginny Jolly Ginny; Follow the following link to the Version 4.x User Guide section on Java under Windows. Click the link in the manual for Version 7 of Java. This will give you the latest 32 bit Java. If you use Internet Explorer as your browser you can install it directly from the link location. After installing the JRE follow the instructions in the manual to allow OpenOffice to find and use the proper JRE. If you need further assistance with installing the JRE you should write to either our support mailing list at mailto:[email protected] or our support forum at http://forum.openoffice.org/. There you will find knowledgeable fellow users that can give you more guidance.
