The objection here is that the behavior is not the same as Microsoft PowerPoint. It should be pointed out that Impress was not offered as a work-alike to PowerPoint. That is not part of the design of the ODF file format and it was not in the thinking when Impress was offered as an alternative (not as a work-alike). This is not an objection to the request. It is pointing out that it is not a defect just because it doesn't work the same. I am marking this as confirmed, in that the Impress behavior is as replicated by the contributors. If it is desired that being a Microsoft PowerPoint work-alike become a goal for Impress, that needs to be taken up on the developer list, [email protected]. I don't know that the project would agree to this and I also don't know where the capability would come from even if there were agreement.
