I have used Open office for three months on a new laptop. Among several
problems is one which is VERY serious, a HUGE hassle, wastes a LOT
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! of time, and NEVER arises with Microsoft Word.
1) Open Office cannot/will not COPY info. from internet, including scientific
or news articles AND letters in email inbox.
Each attempt ends up with computer choked, Open Office frozen, and document NOT
copied. Time lost is ALWAYS AT LEAST A HALF HOUR!!!!!!!!!!
2) IF copying a document does at last "succeed" the result is a MESS of
useless lines, messages, and other garbage (e.g. photos) it takes at least a
half hour to one hour to get rid and/or are impossible to eliminate.
How can Open Office hope to be an alternative to Word if a basic procedure like
copying written information from internet is not possible.
In my modest view this hassle alone would be enough reason to trash open office
and use work, EXCEPT I WORK AS AN UNPAID VOLUNTEER and can t afford it......
PLEASE (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) for your FIRST NEW YEARS PROJECT make it possible
to copy information from the internet without ANY problem as Word does!
