I know 17 is not a large number, but those of who would use it are 'power' users and using Oo because it is a viable alternative to MS Office. Even though Office does have more flexible (although convoluted) template handling, I'd rather not go back to it. I'll try to contact the author of Template Changer and see what his situation is. I'll also try to see if I might be able to assist in bringing the extension up to date.
