If, however, you just paste in the image then the image is pasted just fine. If you then try to copy that image from writer the application crashes and goes directly to recovery mode. Steps to reproduce. 1. Using the attached word document, select the text and image. 2. paste into a writer document. 3. You will notice the image is not display as an image but as an image with a file link as the graphic instead of the graphic iteself. See attached. 4. If you do steps 1-3 with just the image itself it pastes just fine so it seems to be related to a mixture of text and an image. 5. If you then copy with CTRL-C the newly pasted image in writer then the writer application will crash and go to recover document mode. I see here 2 problems. My current assumption is that they are related to the same underlying error and that the issue is the inital pasting of the element which eventually leads to a larger problem of a crash.
