It often silently changes the extension of the file to.zip instead of the required .oxt. check the name of the file and make sure it is of the form abc.oxt where abc is the actual name of the extension. If it is abc.zip then rename it to abc.oxt and then double click on it and it should install. If this solves the problem please let us know so this can be closed as appropriet.
