          Issue ID: 127627
        Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: AOO 4.1.4 chokes on importing 24MB .odt doc
           Product: Writer
           Version: 4.1.4
          Hardware: PC
                OS: Linux 64-bit
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: Critical
          Priority: P5 (lowest)
         Component: open-import
          Assignee: issues@openoffice.apache.org
          Reporter: tathagata...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

1. The .odt file in question is approximately 24MB in size with some images but
all of them are only slightly larger than thumbnail sized. There is some
formatting if one refers to headers and footers as formatting. Headers &
footers are blank, however. The font is size 12 Times New Roman with sporadic
instances of underlining, bolding and italic as well as a few other fonts
interspersed throughout the document sparingly. None of this should matter,
however, given that the exact same document opens just fine in Windows 7 using
the exact same version of AOO.

2. The problem started upon installation of a handful of OS updates but it
isn't the kernel as I have tested the doc extensively up to and including using
previous kernel versions and uninstalling and then reinstalling AOO. The
result is the same: AOO hangs/chokes upon attempting to open the .odt file in
question.

3. I am opting not to attach the file in question as it is strictly
confidential but it should also be noted that there is no special encryption
involved. This is, for all intents and purposes, a plain vanilla .odt file
that is 24MB in size.

4. I am of the opinion that with future updates to the OS this issue may or
may not be resolved, but for the time being, AOO v.4.1.4 running 64-bit
Debian/Ubuntu Linux absolutely chokes on documents over a certain size.
