I'm not sure whether it is worse to keep the error or to "fix" it the way it
was fixed in revision 1824669. The change will impact on all languages and
there is really no advantage and no added readability by using "*" instead of
"<Alle>". An untranslatable "<All>" (hardcoded in English) would probably be
better than "*" in terms of readability for international users.
That said, I reported this bug exactly 10 years ago and in the meantime I've
probably learned enough to fix it myself, so the current fix can stay as it is
and if I find time for a proper fix I'll apply it.
