On a New Document use: * (shift+command+j) on MacOS (10.14.1) with OpenOffice 4.1.5, * (shift+ctrl+j) on Linux (Fedora release 28) with OpenOffice AOO420m1(Build:9800) - Rev. 1846402). * (shift+command+j) on MacOS (10.14.1) with LibreOffice 6.1.1.2 OpenOffice Help (attachment OO_FullScreen_help.png) documents this behavior as intended. On MacOS (10.14.1) with OpenOffice 4.1.0 and 4.1.5, I was able to maximize the application screen by clicking on the top left corner and choosing the maximize button (attachment maximize_button.png). This method preserves the toolbars and menus. Minimize button (attachment minimize_button.png) returns the window to original size.
