On further testing it turns out that it makes a difference, whether AOO got
started via the command line (Apple's Terminal.app) or via the menu (Apple's
Application folder)!

If AOO gets started via the command line the environment remains intact (and
everything works as expected).

However, if AOO gets started via the Application folder, then the environment
gets crippled, unfortunately.

Will upload a Beanshell macro that reads the current environment and writes it
into its swriter document, followed by uploading two AOO swriter documents, one
using AOO from the command line, one using AOO from the Applicatoin folder (the
identical AOO).
