Issue ID: 128101
Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: Home and End shortcut keys cannot be assigned, and
have incorrect (hardcoded) values
Product: Writer
Version: 4.1.5
Hardware: All
OS: Mac OS X, all
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: Normal
Priority: P5 (lowest)
Component: editing
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
When editing a document in OOo Writer on Mac, the Home key jumps to start of
document (instead of start of line), and End jumps to end of document (instead
of end of line).
The bug is that OOo allows you to assign home/end to other values (Tools >
Customize > Keyboard) but ignores the assigned values in Writer.
This would be a lesser problem if the hardcoded shortcut values were more
useful. Most apps today (even on Mac) allow Home/End to be used for document OR
line, and many now use Home/End to mean start/end of line by default. In a
wordprocessor, these are frequently used shortcuts. In a wordprocessor, jumping
to start/end of document is comparitively rarely used.
