Maybe that could help with the confusion. That said... I create a new spreadsheet. I highlight the areas where I want to have lines. I click "borders" and make the lines. I go to "page view" and it shows my page with lines. I go to "print preview" and it shows a blank page. Note: After nearly an hour at this, I finally see that OpenOffice considers lines that we put on a page to be nothing of importance. We have to click the "include output of empty pages" when we print our entirely not empty pages.
