Calc document for test
I have attached Calc file "testFile" for test.
Two cells - B5 & C5 - formatted as Text - contain sample string: "Format
Cells".
In attached file "DialogTabs" you may see due screenshots.
1. Open test file in AOO Calc
2. Select cell e.g. 'B5'
3. Open Format Cells dialog
(Format > Cells OR "Format Cells" from context menu)
4. Go to Font tab.
Notice font size used in preview at the bottom of dialog.
5. Go to Font Effects tab.
You will notice that font size used in preview at the bottom
of dialog is bigger.
6. Edit cell 'B5'
7. Select its content
8. Open Character dialog
Format > Character OR "Character" from context menu
9. If you visit Font tab and Font Effects tab you will notice
that the size of the font used in preview is the same.
For the time being I see no rationale for this difference. Therefore
I consider it a teeny-weeny bug. P6 importance would seem adequate, though
user's annoyance calls for P5.
And some final remarks based upon further research and "playing":
- if in Format Cells dialog, Font tab, you change the font size,
then both preview (Font tab and Font Effects tab) are the same.
- if you start with tiny font size e.g. 6 poins, the issue
does not occur.
- issue occurs if one starts AOO Calc (new document) or opens
new document in Calc.
- in document "Entering, Editing, and Formating Data in Calc",
dated 2005, I found two relevant figures (see, please, attached file
"CalcGuide"). They demonstrate different font size in preview.
- to be on the safe side I checked AOO Writer: Character dialog
and Paragraph Style dialog. The issue doesn't occur.
