In a fresh install of AOO
the vertical and horizontal guides during movement of objects
are not displayed by default.
- Writer, Calc
'Tools - Options - [ Component Name ] - Guides while moving'
- Draw, Impress
'Tools - Options - [ Component Name ] - Guides when moving'
Steps in Writer, Calc, Draw and Impress
(prerequisite: displaying guides when moving an object is OFF):
1. open a new document
2. insert a rectangle
3. turn on displaying guides when moving an object
4. move the rectangle
Result:
Guides are displayed in Writer, Draw and Impress.
In Calc - NOT.
Workaround in Calc:
e.g. scroll the view to and fro (horizontally or vertically).
