dubee edited a comment on issue #4706: Move to Java 11 for building and running URL: https://github.com/apache/openwhisk/pull/4706#issuecomment-578206847 @rabbah, from what I've read, the default GC in Java 11 is optimized for low latency garbage collection. Whereas the old default for Java 8, Parallel GC, is optimized for throughput. There may be more discussion on this subject as we may have evidence of performance degradation using G1 GC, the default for Java 11.
