OpenResty 1.15.8.3 included a security fix to disallow certain characters in upstream URLs. Unfortunately, the fix for this was too broad and disallowed URLs including spaces (among other characters). Currently, there is no OpenResty 1.15.x version containing a fix, so upgrading to 1.17.x is required in order to resolve the vulnerability without potentially breaking existing APIs.
