Runtimes are not expected to execute concurrent requests. To implement concurrent requests a lot of work is required to create multiple executors of the functions and dispatch request to the free one. The PR itself does not look to be harmful except it could unnecessarily lower the performances. I have no idea of the overhead of this change.
