Personally, I would prefer to not close this, but continue the discussion and solve the defined problems in some way to make it acceptable for anybody. I asked you only, because it's not clear what is your suggestion 1 or 2, if you close it I will accept it. If you don't close the PR I assume that you are fine to continue the discussion with you and/or others (if you have no time) to address all issues.
