- Having separate versioning for docs makes it possible to improve (fix bugs) in docs about software versions we cannot change since they have been released. Similar to Docker images: we cannot update Ozone bits, but we can fix issues in the environment (OS packages, variables, etc.). - The website repo has more checks for docs (spelling, conventions, etc.). Hugo here provided only Markdown validity check, but even that is being removed. - Code and doc need different kind of review and checks. If we mix them, they need both, which increases review iterations and check runtime. So I prefer moving design docs to the website. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
