# Replace actions/cache with
[apache/infrastructure-actions/stash|https://github.com/apache/infrastructure-actions/tree/main/stash]:
-- No limit for total storage size.
-- No eviction.
# populate-cache runs a full build to get dependencies, but misses some plugins
executed separately. These can be fetched via {{mvn dependency:go-offline
dependency:resolve-plugins}} Partly used before HDDS-10496, which changed to
full build, because {{maven-dependency-plugin}} did not apply dependency
exclusion, i.e. cached unwanted artifacts. The
[issue|https://github.com/apache/maven-dependency-plugin/issues/1350] was
resolved since then, we can try it.
# Allow {{build}} check in regular CI to store the cache when starting from
scratch in non-{{pull_request}} run. {{populate-cache}} can then run only on
schedule.
