After checking the existing tests, I have a few follow-up questions to make
sure the new coverage matches your expectations:
# *Follower reads:* The existing setup enables both Ratis leader lease and
Ozone follower local lease. Would it be appropriate to disable follower local
lease and test LINEARIZABLE follower reads with Ratis leader lease enabled and
disabled? For the lease-enabled case, would “3 down → no stale reads” be
covered sufficiently by verifying that reads fail within a bounded time after
the lease expires, or would you prefer a partition test where the majority
commits an update and the isolated nodes must not return stale data?
# *Finalization:* The existing lagging-node tests use
{{forceFinalizeUpgrade()}} to bypass peer version checks while a node is
unavailable. Would separate scenarios covering normal finalization with all
five nodes running, and forced finalization with two nodes down followed by
snapshot-based recovery, meet your expectations for both OM and SCM?
# *Secure OM:* By “tokens,” do you mean OM delegation tokens, or should block
tokens also be covered? I would verify that credentials obtained before
failover remain usable afterward through token-authenticated operations and
signed S3 requests.
For CI, I suggest measuring each representative test’s runtime first, then
discussing which should run on every change and which need a periodic job. Does
that sound reasonable?
