Attila Doroszlai updated HDDS-17661:
------------------------------------
    Description:
Compatibility tests are incomplete.

(Terms: "new" = "current version, being tested", "old" = "previous, released
versions".)

1. In new cluster, each client reads its own data, old clients also read data
written by new client:
    {code}
xcompat-cluster-2.3.0-client-1.1.0-read-1.1.0
xcompat-cluster-2.3.0-client-1.1.0-read-2.3.0
xcompat-cluster-2.3.0-client-1.2.1-read-1.2.1
xcompat-cluster-2.3.0-client-1.2.1-read-2.3.0
xcompat-cluster-2.3.0-client-1.3.0-read-1.3.0
xcompat-cluster-2.3.0-client-1.3.0-read-2.3.0
xcompat-cluster-2.3.0-client-1.4.1-read-1.4.1
xcompat-cluster-2.3.0-client-1.4.1-read-2.3.0
xcompat-cluster-2.3.0-client-2.0.0-read-2.0.0
xcompat-cluster-2.3.0-client-2.0.0-read-2.3.0
xcompat-cluster-2.3.0-client-2.1.2-read-2.1.2
xcompat-cluster-2.3.0-client-2.1.2-read-2.3.0
xcompat-cluster-2.3.0-client-2.2.1-read-2.2.1
xcompat-cluster-2.3.0-client-2.2.1-read-2.3.0
xcompat-cluster-2.3.0-client-2.3.0-read-2.3.0
{code}
2. In old cluster, old client reads new data, new client reads two versions
(matching cluster version):
    {code}
xcompat-cluster-1.4.1-client-1.4.1-read-2.3.0
xcompat-cluster-1.4.1-client-2.3.0-read-1.4.1
xcompat-cluster-1.4.1-client-2.3.0-read-2.3.0
{code}

New clients should read all old versions in both cases (for old clusters, old
clients also need to write).

  was:Read tests in {{xcompat/test-new.sh}} are incomplete: each client reads
its own data and the one written by current version client (if different).
Thus current client only reads its own data. It should also test reading data
written by old clients.
