{{KeyValueHandler}} in general does not handle unchecked exceptions. The
exception reaches gRPC, which closes the connection abruptly. As a result,
client only gets some generic exception ({{StatusRuntimeException: UNKNOWN}}).
Steps to reproduce: same as HDDS-8019.
