Sadanand Shenoy commented on HDDS-8254:
---------------------------------------
[~ritesh] , Based on some investigation , there is already a configĀ
"hdds.datanode.storage.utilization.critical.threshold" which was added to mark
a node out of space , although while I checked the code, this functionality
seems to be broken and no action is taken even after marking it as out of
space. I will work on it this week and probably raise a fix. The description is
not very accurate , I will update as I find out more.
> Set a default for hdds.datanode.dir.du.reserved.percent

> Priority: Blocker
>
> Operations like block deletion etc require opening rocksdb instances and
> opening these instances need some space on disk (for ops like rocksdb WAL
> write) . When disks get full without a set reserved space, these operations
> will be blocked leading to more issues.
> It is better to set a default reserved percentage to solve this.
