Compatibility test for EC, introduced in 1.3.0, needs some rework to support
further releases.
Currently the tests exercise pre-EC clients with EC data written by current
version (built from source). Some operations are expected to be rejected for
old clients.
Future releases (1.4.0, etc.) will also support EC. If we want to test
compatibility between e.g. 1.3.0 and 1.4.0, we cannot simply run the same test
that expects rejected operations.
