### Search before asking - [x] I searched in the [issues](https://github.com/apache/paimon-cpp/issues) and found nothing similar. ### Paimon-cpp version main branch at commit 7f18b4c72801a6922e3dd33e8301b8adc22f0318. ### Minimal reproduce step 1. Use Paimon Java to write an ORC table containing CHAR and VARCHAR columns. 2. Include both top-level columns and CHAR/VARCHAR fields nested inside ARRAY or MAP. 3. Read the table with Paimon C++. Paimon Java writes these fields using ORC CHAR and VARCHAR types, while the Paimon C++ target schema represents them as ORC STRING. ### What doesn't meet your expectations? Paimon C++ rejects the read because the ORC source and target type kinds do not match. Top-level fields fail the type-kind check, while nested CHAR/VARCHAR fields inside ARRAY or MAP fail the complete-subtree comparison. Paimon C++ should treat the following mappings as compatible: - ORC CHAR → STRING - ORC VARCHAR → STRING This compatibility should also apply recursively inside nested ARRAY, MAP, and STRUCT types. Reading CHAR values should preserve the ORC reader output, including CHAR padding. ### Anything else? _No response_ ### Are you willing to submit a PR? - [x] I'm willing to submit a PR! -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
