Requirement fit: SUPPORTED. Implementation: CLEAN in the reviewed compatibility scope. Spark 4.2 support has direct user value (#8901). The current branch includes a dedicated 4.2 module, release/download wiring, the Spark 4.1/4.2 compatibility shims, and broad SQL/storage regressions for MERGE, overwrite, functions, variants, row tracking and procedures. The post-#9794 Spark 4 / Scala 2.13 job is green, as are Spark 3, E2E, documentation and licensing checks. I did not find a new evidence-backed correctness blocker in the latest follow-up. The aggregate CI result is red only because `Java / Flink 2 / Common and connectors` was cancelled while every relevant Spark job completed successfully. Please rerun that cancelled job (and the aggregate result) before merge so the final head has a complete required matrix; I would not merge first and defer any newly exposed compatibility failure. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
