## What - Read independent MAP header and trailer metadata concurrently. - Read adjacent key/value indexes with one range request. - Keep descriptor mode from reading BLOB value bytes. ## Why A selected `MAP<K, BLOB>` row previously required five serial metadata range reads before returning descriptors. On object storage, their round-trip latency accumulates even though the BLOB payload is not read. This reduces each row from five to four metadata requests and from five to three serial I/O phases. It adds at most two concurrent metadata reads per selected row. The file format and result semantics are unchanged.
