`write_json`'s `Double`/`Float` arms used Rust's `to_string`, which renders a non-finite value as a bare `inf` / `-inf` / `NaN` token. `Variant::to_json` is documented Java-compatible and is reached on reads via `cast_variant_to_string`, so a variant holding a non-finite float produced **syntactically invalid JSON** — any downstream parser breaks. Serialize non-finite values as the quoted `"Infinity"` / `"-Infinity"` / `"NaN"` tokens Java `GenericVariant.toJson` uses (`appendQuoted(sb, Double.toString(d))`). Finite values keep their existing rendering. The added unit test parses `1e400` / `-1e400` (which overflow to ±∞) and asserts `to_json` emits the quoted tokens; it produces bare `inf` before the fix. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
