Rebased onto main 86f71e5. This branch now includes the shared #965 fix 6e3242c, so `Table.expire_snapshots` protects catalog-only branch snapshots. No binding change was needed. With a freshly built wheel, the 28 tests in `tests/test_table.py` pass. The rest of the Python suite also passes, except four `test_datafusion.py` tests that need the Spark-provisioned warehouse.
