@JingsongLi Agreed. These paths delete files, and the review rounds showed how a missed owner (a branch, a REST-only snapshot, an external root) turns into deleted live data. That risk isn't justified on the Rust side while Java, Flink and Spark already provide these procedures. I'm closing this PR together with the rest of the stack (#965–#968) and the tracking issue #964.
