Subrat Mishra commented on PHOENIX-4315:
----------------------------------------
[~aertoria] & [~jamestaylor],
I am interested to take a look at these functions. Please find below few
questions/assumptions related to the implementation of GREATEST/LEAST functions:
1. Do we need to support only 2 arguments or multiple arguments to these
functions? Currently COALESCE supports only 2 arguments.
e.g. GREATEST(expr1, expr2) or GREATEST(expr1, expr2, expr3 …)
2. If any argument/expression is NULL, both of the functions will return
NULL immediately without any comparison. Is it fine?
3. Will not support mix data types if found in the expressions. Is it fine?
Thanks,
Subrat
