[~pboado] Thanks for taking this on.
I could get all tests pass locally against CDH 6.0.1. I used the current
release 5.0.0 to test agains the CDH rather than the master branch.
The reason that tests is failing is because of this [HBase
bug|https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HBASE-20565] that was fixed and
apparently Phoenix (or its IT test) rely on it.
The only java change that you need to do is to apply this patch on "release
5.0.0" to get CDH 6.0.1 to work
