[~larsh]- this bug is a consequence of PHOENIX-4277, which doesn't exist in
master because the coproc signatures changed, making it hard to forward-port.
There's an existing issue for the forward-port and we should make sure that it
incorporates this fix or something like it. See PHOENIX-4378.
