Sandeep Guggilam commented on PHOENIX-5607:
-------------------------------------------
[~ckulkarni] [~abhishek.chouhan] Looks like the infinite build has something to
do with index. I have removed the index and submitted three Hudson runs . All
of them are successful without any issues. Also I was able to reproduce this
issue of hanging with index in my local eclipse ( only once) where I was able
to see the index state as ACTIVE and the follow two upserts data in the base
table. We might have to add more logging to understand where it is stuck as we
don't have much data for an UPSERT or QUERY from the output logs
I will add another Jira for adding the indexing support where we might need to
add more debugging and understand the reason for the flaky nature. For now , my
latest patch is the change which passes consistently which we can checkin to
add the initial backward compatibility support. Can you please review the patch
?

> Filing this as a blocker for 4.16.0.
> As we've seen with the various failed attempts to release 4.15.0 Phoenix'
> backwards compatibility story is weak, and lacks tests - in fact there're no
> tests.
> We should not allow to ship 4.16.0 without improving that and without tests.
> [~ckulkarni], [~gjacoby] , FYI, what we discussed.
