However, for a more precise measure measurement, I believe it is best to induce a GC every time to get heap usage. Also, drops in the charts mean GC reclaimed memory, so having these drops invalidates the data (because the measured heap numbers included garbage). If the test could avoid that, I hope the number are going to be more aligned. Also, we need to think about our available inputs, and those are 1) number of entities, 2) number of properties 3) total size of all properties (as strings) for an entity. Ideally our formula should take all of them into account, but that might be an overkill :) How about we try to correlate total size of properties (per entity) times the number of entities to heap usage?
