   As per this [page by 
AWS](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/sdkref/latest/guide/feature-static-credentials.html#:~:text=The%20AWS%20SDK%20automatically%20uses,longer%20valid%20after%20they%20expire.),
 it's not advised to use long-lived credentials for anything. Therefore, I'm 
not particular keen on this proposal. There may be more security issues with 
storing AWS credentials in the Polaris Persistence layer, as well.
   
   In a Hybrid-cloud deployment, wouldn't it still be easier to provision your 
Polaris instance using environment files/variables once instead of on every 
catalog creation?
