We've decided to publish helm chart along with the Polaris release, more context is here https://lists.apache.org/thread/d1vf7xpn6nkzp8gbh417m8qb58tkpcqz. I changed my mind a bit recently. @dimas-b , I like your original idea of publishing Helm Chart separately more now. I do see the value of update Helm Chart more frequently or less frequently than the main release, like this issue indicated. We can still follow most items we discussed with a minor process change to allow Helm Chart version to be different, so that we could publish it separately. More specifically, item 1 and 3 need to be change. > 1. Publish the Helm Chart along with Polaris src/bin release. > 2. Publish the Helm Chart to dist.apache.org > 3. Using the same version for Helm Chart and docker image version > 4. Use the Polaris release version(e.g., 1.0.0-incubating) for appVersion, > it doesn't quite matter as it is a free form hint pointed out by Alex. > 5. Use the Polaris release version(e.g., 1.0.0-incubating) for the docker > image tag(the `tag` field in values.yaml), so that there is no > compatibility issue when users revert to a historical version of the Helm > Chart -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
