The Archives: drop-down list always shows full years (except for the
current year) even if the archive does not span the whole year. If one is
looking for the first or last message to a list that can result in wasted
effort viewing months that are outside the span of the archive.
This can be done by changing the display for months that are outside the
span.
For example using italic for the normal drop-down and enclosing the mobile
drop-down dates in parentheses. This provides a simple indication to the user.
