Enh: make debug info optional
Many of the JSON replies contain various bits of debug information.
This is not used currently so it is wasted network traffic.
(Not a lot, but it all adds up).
Also the values vary between responses which means it has to be ignored
when checking responses for test purposes.
The debug data should be made an optional configuration setting, with a
default of false.
