[~amaliujia], thanks a lot for starting this work. Unfortunately, Section
4.2.1 in [1] only has some simple descriptions but not detailed algorithm. We
should come up a detailed design before working on the implementation.
We should also state the goals of this work. Are we going to support listener
or learner or both?
- Listener: for replicating the state only. It never becomes a voting member.
- Learner: for catching up news servers to avoid availability gaps. It will
become a voting member.
