This report is related to bug report:

recommendation for a feature change to make the awareness of the little-known
(and potentially destructive) feature more obvious.
In addition, the feature contains a defect, which is that when multiple sheets
are simultaneously selected then even the protected cells of protected sheets
(if also among the selected sheets) will be automatically and invisibly edited
in the background, thereby breaking the cell protection feature for those
worksheets.
