Review Comment:
   It is not related to the compiler, clang and gcc produces ABI compatible 
binaries. Mach-O adds the `_` prefix to the symbol names, but that does not 
seem to affect `dlsym`.
   
   I'll remove the macOS variants with underscore prefixes. The symbol name 
should work for both Linux and macOS.
