Closing this EPIC — all planned work has shipped, the remaining sub-issues
have been closed with explicit rationale.
## Shipped
- **Scaffolding** — #2920: `mkdocs-static-i18n` (suffix mode,
`fallback_to_default: true`), centralized `nav_translations` in `mkdocs.yml`,
and `.zh.md` workflow.
- **Language switcher UI** — 文A icon dropdown in the header (#2923), with
two follow-up fixes for the mike alias / canonical-version interaction (#2936,
#2945).
- **Content translations:**
- Landing pages (#2909, PR #2922)
- Setup / Install (#2910, PR #2924)
- Tutorial / Programming Guide, split into 4 parts (#2911, PRs #2931 /
#2933 / #2934 / #2935)
- Community + ASF (#2912, PR #2937)
- Stats & Viz reference + SQL API overview/concepts + Raster concept
pages, bundled (#2913 / #2914 / #2916, PR #2947)
## Intentionally left English
The per-function SQL reference pages — `docs/api/sql/Geometry-*/`,
`Geography-*/`, `Raster-*/` detail files, plus the entire `docs/api/flink/` and
`docs/api/snowflake/` reference trees — are deliberately not translated (#2915,
#2917, #2918 closed as not-planned). Those files are dominated by function
signatures, parameter tables, return types, and code blocks; the English source
is the canonical spec, and the prose-to-code ratio does not justify dual-locale
maintenance churn. The concept-level top pages and entry-point overviews were
translated.
Future contributors who want to revisit per-function reference translation,
or add a new locale, can open a new EPIC.
