Apache Spark 3.4 reached its official End of Life (EOL) on October 21, 2024, following the open-source community's standard 18-month maintenance policy for minor releases. The Apache Spark community rolled out the final maintenance release (Spark 3.4.4) in October 2024, officially halting all open-source bug fixes and security patches. Major cloud platforms have completely removed or disabled it. For instance, the Azure Synapse Runtime for Apache Spark 3.4 officially hit its end of support on March 31.
