Please create a new branch for the 1.8.0 release.
The new branch should be *branch-1.8* and it should be based on our current
master branch.
The wiki says branch-1.8.0, but if doing so, then we won't have a branch where
to commit bug fixes to a 1.8.1 maintenance release, so let's change that to
improve our release process.
