Craig McClanahan commented on SHALE-340:
----------------------------------------
> Compressed JavaScript in Validator 1.3.1
I think this makes a lot of sense (and could probably even be thought of as
included in SHALE-36 :-). In addition, I'm building up a proposal for C-V 1.4
or later to refactor the actual Javascript code a bit ... separating the logic
("is a field's value valid?") from the presentation ("pop up this message").
I'd like the flexibility to choose, for example, between a popup, or modifying
a <div> tag dynamically to contain the error text. Or choosing between
displaying all the messages globally in one place, or in a separate spot for
each input field.
The formatting and validation functionality is well on its way to being cleanly
refactored in 1.3 ... let's do the same for the Javascript :-). Look for a
proposal on Commons Dev soon.
