René Peinl commented on SHINDIG-976:
------------------------------------

We are currently working on the person handler that does that and could
implement this but we have no idea how to set the HttpServletResponse without
throwing an exception. However, an exception doesn't seem appropriate since the
call succeeds. although the friend relationship is not directly created, but
pending and waiting for acceptance from the other user. The handler itself
returns a Future<?> object which we are currently filling with Future<Void>.
Any ideas?

> According to section 6.1 of restful spec
> http://sites.google.com/a/opensocial.org/opensocial/Technical-Resources/opensocial-spec-v081/restful-protocol
> , container SHOULD send a 202 in case of a friend request inititiation which
> requires the consent of the other party. But right now there is no support in
> shindig to send such a code.
